We Do Not Compete With Our Distributors

The history of Elegante dates back to the 1960’s before the business sold cremation products. Originally, Elegante sold silver plated candlesticks and chandeliers. After several years in this business, we began to manufacture our own unique table lamps and light fixtures. In the 1980’s, we introduced brass beds to our line of products followed closely by the manufacturing of our own bed styles. We imported the parts for these lamps and beds from India. Our India supplier informed us that there was a sizable order for Cremation Urns being shipped to the United States. At this time, he sent us several samples to view.

As we had not been in the cremation business before, we did not know whether these products would sell well or not. We took the samples to a local funeral home to see if these were marketable products. During this time, we quickly learned that Cremation was a rapidly expanding part of the Funeral Industry. We placed a small order for urns on a trial basis. These first urns quickly sold out, leading us to invest in the Funeral Supply Business. Throughout the next several years, we began to design and introduce innovative cremation urn styles leading us to become a major urn supplier in the funeral industry.

Elegante began distributing quality affordable Cremation Urns in 2001. We have grown to become one of the leading Cremation Urn importers and distributors in the United States. All Elegante products can be purchased through any of our 100+ distributors throughout the world. We pride ourselves on quality, design and customer satisfaction. 

In 2016, Elegante was acquired by Bass-Mollett Publishers who have been in the Funeral Industry since 1951. We are proud to be part of the Bass-Mollett family and look forward to supplying quality items to the Funeral Industry for many years to come.
